May 24th 2011 - Charlie Bass, life-long Martinsville resident and long time MGC staff member, will turn 90 on Saturday, May 28th. Although you may not recognize his name, chances are you have seen Charlie on the golf course mowing fairways. Better yet, you may have even seen him playing a round of golf or perfecting his smooth swing on the driving range!
To celebrate his birthday, Charlie is planning to play golf with his friends on Saturday...after he gets done working! What he doesn't know is that we're planning a little surprise party for him at noon.
Everyone is invited to come out to the club for cake and refreshments as we celebrate Charlie's magnificient 90 years. If you haven't met Charlie, you should. He is honestly one of the most special people you will ever meet.
By the way, we know Charlie isn't too Internet savy so he won't be reading this article. But please keep the party a secret! |
